AGH Associates, Inc. staff train on-site in public schools and early intervention programs through-out the country. Because we know the level of support and training needed to help systems move to "best practices", we prefer to work with a system over a period of years.

We do keynotes, overview of topic workshops, and credit courses for those systems not yet ready to commit to a long-term relationship.

Our training menu of services for building inclusive schools includes:

  • Needs Assessment (classroom, building, and/or district)
  • Planning for Systemic Change (short term goals (1 year) and long term goals (5+ year plan)
  • Pre-Referral Process (set-up, train participants, model, monitor, tie-in with other outside consultants)
  • Assessment (quality control, ecological assessment training, training in writing non-jargon reports, written feedback on reports, training in and monitoring of functional recommendations, training in and monitoring of non-jargon oral reports to team/parents)
  • Teaming (training in: consensus building, facilitation of team, writing IEPs at team meetings, efficient use of team time, agenda building, written documentation, roles of members, supporting parents, cultural competency, team collaboration)
  • Provision of Services (block scheduling of specialists' time, lesson/treatment planning, use of entire school/community environment, role of regular education staff, role of paraprofessionals, consultation, integrated therapies, functional outcomes, evaluation of progress, progress notes, team approach, parent communication)
  • Best Practices (developmentally appropriate practices, cooperative learning, team-teaching, consultant model, integrated therapies, ESL as a related service, differentiated instruction in mixed-ability classrooms, behavior management)
  • Parent Involvement (orientation to inclusive practices, parent brochures/guides, defining and supporting a positive parent role on the team, parent communication
  • Administration Consultation at the building and/or district level (planning, monitoring, interagency cooperation, role of the administrator teacher support, parent support, systemic change, next steps, observation and feedback)
  • Publicity (conference presentations (local, state, and/or national), newspaper/radio/cable stories, articles for building/district parent newsletters, board of education and/or central office reports/presentations)
